SASKATOON, SK (Nov 4, 2026) – The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Fash as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective December 7, 2026.

As CEO, Fash will lead CHBA’s work representing Canada’s residential construction industry nationally and advancing the priorities of its membership as they seek a strong and positive role for the housing industry in Canada’s economy.

Fash brings extensive experience in residential construction, renovation, and land development policy, government relations, advocacy, strategic research and organizational leadership. He has been serving as the CEO at the provincial level of CHBA, with the Building Industry and Land Development Association of Alberta (BILD Alberta), for the past six years.

“Scott brings an outstanding combination of industry knowledge, policy expertise and leadership experience to CHBA,” said CHBA President Curtis Mercer. “At a time when housing affordability and supply are among the most pressing issues facing Canadians, his deep understanding of the challenges confronting our industry, and his proven ability to bring government and industry together around practical solutions, make him exceptionally well suited to lead CHBA.”

During his time with BILD Alberta, Fash has led strategic research, policy development and advocacy initiatives focused on strengthening Alberta’s housing markets. His work has included close collaboration with all levels of government, industry leaders and community stakeholders on housing supply, regulatory efficiency, municipal approvals and building codes, with a focus on maintaining housing affordability.

Scott is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and spent a decade as a senior planning consultant advising on complex private and public sector development projects across Canada. He is a firm believer that long-term community sustainability and housing attainability rely on collaboration between government and industry.

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead CHBA and work alongside our members and our local and provincial association across the country,” said Fash. “Canada’s residential construction industry has a critical role to play in addressing the country’s housing challenges. I look forward to building on CHBA’s strong foundation and working collaboratively with members, governments and industry partners to advance policies that support housing supply, affordability, and strong communities.”
