10 Next-Level Stampede Breakfasts to Check Out This Year

During the Calgary Stampede season, there’s no better way to start your morning than at a Stampede breakfast. Featuring pancakes, sausage, cultural dishes and more, these breakfasts hosted by local businesses, community associations and other organizations are a great way to connect with your local community while enjoying a delicious meal. Plus, many are free to attend.

While there are dozens of great breakfasts to choose from around the city, these are a few of the ones that offer a memorable experience that goes above and beyond.

First Flip

When: July 3, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

One of the first pancake breakfasts to kick things off each year, First Flip is a massive breakfast experience that takes place along Stephen Avenue. Fill up on pancakes while taking in entertainment and music by Mackenzie Brown, Green Fools Theatre Society, Chinook Country Line Dancers and The Frontiers.

Fourth Street Pancake Showdown

At the Fourth Street Pancake Showdown, 11 businesses located along 4th Street S.W. in Mission will be whipping up different flavours of pancakes in pursuit of the Golden Whisk Award. Make your way down the street to try creations like ube pancakes by Abbey’s Creations and Foxy Box, pancakes with donair meat at Blowers & Grafton, apple pie and salted caramel pancakes at Vin Room and more.

Vegan Pancake Breakfast

When: July 5, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Canela, the popular vegan café and bakery in Inglewood, has teamed up with The Calgary Vegan Society and Canadian Heritage Roasting Co. for its annual vegan pancake breakfast. Expect a morning of music and tasty vegan bites, including Canadian Heritage Roasting Co. coffee, sausages and, of course, pancakes.

Acadia Stampede Breakfast

When: July 5, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (breakfast runs to 11 a.m.)

A petting zoo, line dance performances, a big band, western-themed games — expect all this and more at the Acadia Community Association’s Stampede breakfast. Snack on sausages and pancakes while enjoying the festivities. Tickets are free for members and $5 for non-members.

Omo’s 8th Annual Green Tea Pancake Stampede Breakfast

When: July 5, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

This Japanese restaurant takes its Stampede breakfast to the next level by offering green tea pancakes at its annual event. That, plus live music, games, performances and more, are just some of the things that make this a great breakfast to check out.

Almusal Stampede Breakfast

When: July 6, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

This Filipino Stampede breakfast event hits a major milestone this year as it celebrates its 10th anniversary on July 6th. Head to the parking lot of Pacific Hut Restaurant for a morning of music, dancing and delicious breakfast fare like eggs, fried rice, pandesal and more.

Triwood Community Association Stampede Breakfast

When: July 6, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A free pancake breakfast is just the start of the festivities at this event by the Triwood Community Association. Guests can also enjoy wagon rides, an antique car show and shine, line dancing and more.

Enjoy some art with your pancakes at Contemporary Calgary. Held on the art gallery’s front plaza, this event features free pancakes, live music, line dancing and art activities. Before you go, pop inside to see the Kenneth Tam: Silent Spikes exhibition for free during the breakfast time.

The Ismaili Muslim Community’s 28th Annual Stampede Breakfast

When: July 12, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Calgarians come out in droves for this popular Stampede breakfast complete with pancakes, bharazi (a pigeon peas dish) and other tasty fare. Held in partnership with the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association, this year’s event also offers attendees the opportunity to check out a photography exhibit called “The Artisans of Al-Darb Al-Ahmar.”
