During the Calgary Stampede, many attendees break out their best Western wear. This huge outdoor event calls for staples like cowboy hats, plaid shirts, big belt buckles, denim and more. Many folks bring their own personal flair to their looks by incorporating everything from handmade jewellery, to sparkly pink cowboy boots, to thrifted finds.

Here are some of the cool looks we saw this year at the 2025 Calgary Stampede.

Colton Rieger-Steed

Colton Rieger-Steed wore this full Canadian tuxedo inside the BMO Centre. Most of his all-denim outfit was from Lammle’s, though he also had some thrifted finds like his sleeveless denim shirt.

Imaan Waja

Imaan Waja’s favourite colour is pink (if you couldn’t tell) and her coral ensemble is a mix of new pieces and older ones from her closet. The newly purchased, sparkly pink cowboy boots pair well with her hat from Irvine’s Tack and Western Wear and her hijab from Culture Hijab Co., a Toronto-based hijab boutique.

Henry Li

Henry Li wore a spectacular white bomber jacket with wolves on it, which he paired with blue denim jeans, a patterned button-down shirt and a blue bandana. He finished off his look with a white cowboy hat and a pair of sunglasses.

This stylish trio are all wearing jewellery made by Martina Bleriot MacDonald, who came to Calgary from France over 20 years ago and studied jewellery making at the Alberta University of the Arts. Denise Doz wore a patterned button-down shirt with a beaded bolo tie, while Bleriot MacDonald brought a pop of animal print to her look with her bag and scarf. Fiona Symthe’s look features an embroidered white top. The trio paired their handmade pearl-beaded rings and bracelets with long flowy skirts and cowboy boots.
