Calgary’s River Hall Returns with More Music, Food and Fun

by Viancy Salubre

Do you ever wish summer would last just a little bit longer? Well, River Hall is back, and it’s here to help make the final weekends of the season a lot more fun.

Brought to life by Montreal-based event company Aire Commune in partnership with the City of Calgary, River Hall is a community gathering space along the Bow River. The outdoor attraction is back for its second year with its So Long Summer series featuring a variety of lively events and programming. There are food vendors set up inside colourful shipping containers, lots of seating, bike racks and a small stage.

The space will be open for five weekends (Fridays to Sundays) from August 29 to September 28. All events are free, with all ages (and furry friends) welcome to attend. Each weekend brings something new with activities like free yoga classes, a run club, a bike club, a skateboard workshop, DJ sets and more. Attendees can drop in or pre-register online to secure their spot to specific events.

This year’s local food and drink vendors include Cluck N Cleaver, Annex Ale Project, Made by Marcus, Eighty-Eight Brewing Company and Monogram Coffee. There will also be a fresh produce pop-up market by Shirley’s Greenhouse that will be selling seasonal produce every Sunday.

Stay tuned as River Hall will be announcing more events and programming on its Instagram account.
