Children's Hospital Lottery grand prize is a home with a heart

In Calgary’s southwest, where rolling pathways meet mountain-inspired streetscapes, a new lottery show home is turning heads not only for its design, but also for what it represents.
The 2026 Children’s Hospital Lottery Dream Home, unveiled by the Kinsmen Club of the Stampede City in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation and built by Homes by Avi, is more than a showcase of elevated living. It’s a tangible expression of community generosity, one ticket at a time.
“Supporting the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation is an important part of how we show up in our community,” says Vared Amir, vice-president of Brand Leadership at Homes by Avi, noting that this is the 15th year Homes by Avi has partnered with lottery. “Being part of this initiative allows us to see the direct impact of that support. It reflects the kind of communities we’re committed to building and the role we believe we can play beyond the homes themselves.”
For more than three decades, the lottery has helped shape pediatric care across southern Alberta, raising more than $30 million to fund everything from the new Children’s Hospital to groundbreaking research and life-saving equipment.
This year, proceeds will support the purchase of critical equipment, including Vein Viewers — innovative devices that use near-infrared light technology to map veins directly onto the skin in real time, allowing clinicians to start IVs more quickly with less pain and anxiety for youngsters.
“We take care of some of the sickest kids in Alberta in the Emergency Department— it’s a huge honour, but also a huge responsibility,” says Dr. Tania Principi, section chief pediatric emergency medicine. “Having the best equipment allows us to provide the best possible care for children when they need us most. Knowing our community supports us through the Children’s Hospital Lottery truly means everything to our team.”
That spirit of care and precision carries seamlessly into the design of this year’s grand prize home.
Valued at nearly $1.5 million, this stunning home, the Van Dyke model, unfolds across nearly 3,800 square feet of thoughtfully designed space in the community of Sirocco at Pine Creek. With six bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and a fully developed lower level, it’s a home designed as much for gathering as it is for retreat.
Step inside and the tone is immediately set — warm, moody and layered with intention.
“We decided to call the esthetic ‘carefully curated,’ ” says Julie Punter, Homes by Avi’s interior design manager, who led the design vision. “It’s a warm-toned home with deep saturated hues, refined millwork and textured finishes. The idea was to blend a little bit of the old with the new — timeless eclectic pieces that make the home feel lived-in from the start.”
That philosophy is evident in every detail. Vintage-inspired lighting glows against rich wall treatments. Floral wallpapers in muted burgundy and taupe soften transitions between rooms. A tin-style ceiling in the foyer painted in a deep, dramatic hue, creates a sense of arrival.
At the heart of the home, a chef-inspired kitchen anchors the main floor with jewel-toned cabinetry, quartz countertops and a statement island designed for connection. Nearby, a tucked-away coffee station, complete with floating wood shelves in an English tea stain finish adds both charm and practicality.
Even the unexpected becomes a feature: a hidden, speakeasy-inspired flex room is concealed behind latched panel doors, offering a playful contrast to the home’s otherwise open flow.
The great room centres around a gas fireplace that feels both classic and contemporary. Expansive windows flood the home with natural light, while a deck off of the dining nook extends the living space out of doors.
Upstairs, four bedrooms and a sunken bonus room with wet bar create a private family retreat. The primary suite is particularly striking — its plaid-textured wallpaper in burgundy, grey and taupe adding depth to the space. The spa-like ensuite is defined by a freestanding soaker tub, dual vanities with round vessel sinks, and a glass-framed shower finished in matte black to match the fixtures.
Downstairs, the fully developed basement shifts into entertainment mode. A spacious recreation area, wet bar with floating shelves and two additional bedrooms make it ideal for hosting or simply giving everyone room to spread out.
“It’s designed as a true family home,” says Punter. “There’s space for everyone to have their own corner, but also spaces that bring people together.”
With mountain-themed architectural styling that incorporates timber post and beam detailing and a generous three-car garage, the Van Dyke model is an exclusive design for the community of Sirocco.
The Grand Prize Lottery Home will be awarded to one lucky winner fully furnished, and with $27,000 in gift cards to World of Spas and Barbecues Galore, along with $10,000 in cash. In addition to the grand prize, the Children’s Hospital Lottery features more than 900 prizes from cars to trips and electronics.
Located at 275 Creekside Terrace S.W. , the 2026 Children’s Lottery Dream Home will be open for viewing for three weekends in June — June 6 and 7, June 13 and 14, and June 20 and 21 from noon to 5 p.m. each day.
The grand prize draw will be held on July 7 with the final deadline to purchase tickets on June 26. Ticket prices are one for $100; five for $200; 10 for $300; 25 for $500 and 100 for $700.
