Made Here: Routine’s Natural Products Help You Smell and Feel Good

Out at their shared ranch northwest of Calgary, sisters-in-law Neige and Pippa Blair are reminded of the importance of eco-friendly products. “We swim in the river all year long. Whatever flows downstream, it’s really important that nothing pollutes it,” says Neige.
In 2011, they founded Routine, a natural personal-product company, best known for its deodorants. Its mission has been crystal clear: to offer clean products that feel and smell incredible while strengthening the local community and honouring nature.
Nearly everything from Routine is made within a five-kilometre radius in Calgary, including the recycled plastics that the company melts to make all its bottles for shampoo, conditioner, creams and soaps. With its reusable glass deodorant jars and cardboard exterior sticks, Routine has likely saved the equivalent of millions of disposable deodorant-stick containers from landfill.
Routine products can be found online and in over 3,000 stores worldwide, including the local Routine shop and refill bar. Choose from nearly 20 scents, such as Sexy Sadie with its orange, vanilla and cinnamon notes, and trust that you’ll smell good while doing good. “It’s something that you feel good about; there’s no chemicals going into your skin,” says Neige.
