Liven up your Wednesdays with some local music at the Summer Kicks series by Kicking Horse Culture. These free concerts are held every Wednesday from June 25 to August 20, and attendees can jam out to a roster of talented artists from Golden. Bring your lawn chair or picnic blanket to Keith King Memorial Park and enjoy performances from artists like Tina Leon, El Balcon, Mimi O’Bonsawin and more.

Tee off at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf Club
When: Opens July 1
After a closure due to last year’s Jasper wildfires, the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf Club re-opens back up this summer. The lush golf park has been restored and is celebrating its 100th year of golfing. Guests will receive an elevated experience through expanded green space, new course furnishings, a reimagined driving range and more. The course has 18 holes for guests to book tee times or golf lessons. Golf clubs and carts are also available for rent.

Walk through an outdoor art gallery on the Art in Nature Trail in Banff
When: July 1 to September 30
Take a walk along the Bow River Trail in Banff and experience some incredible art in a beautiful landscape. The outdoor Art in Nature Trail exhibition displays more than 65 pieces of local art along a scenic walking trail starting at the Banff Park Museum. The self-guided walk is free and showcases a variety of local art in mediums ranging from paintings to sculptures.

Catch an outdoor movie at Movies in the Mountains
When: Mondays from July 7 to August 25
If you love movies, you’re in luck — outdoor movie nights are happening every Monday night at Invermere’s Pothole Park from July 7 to August 25. Depending on the week, the film lineup includes flicks like Encanto, Transformers One, Wicked and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and snacks to the screenings, and a cash-only concession is also available for your movie treat needs.

Watch a play at the Canmore Summer Theatre Festival
When: July 9 to 20
Community theatre company Pine Tree Players is back with another year of vibrant performances during its annual Canmore Summer Theatre Festival. From July 9 to 20, the theatre company will showcase two shows each day: The Wizard of Oz starts at 1 p.m. and Treasure Island starts at 7 p.m. at the Stan Rogers Stage. Bring your own snacks, lawn chairs and blankets to the outdoor theatre. Tickets are available for each show or you can get a festival pass.

Take a scenic run through the mountains during the new Canmore Revolver race
When: July 13
Calling all runners! There’s a new summer race in the beautiful Canmore mountains. The first Canmore Revolver race is a five-hour run that challenges attendees to run as many laps as possible through a six-kilometre track. You can complete the race on your own or as a team. The race runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with water and snacks available at the starting point of each lap to refuel during the race.
