by Paula Martinez

Category: Exceptional Service: Tour Escort | Guide

Winner: Alice Lam

Employer: Friends of Chinatown

Sponsor: WestJet

So much so that she volunteers as a tour guide of the area to locals, visitors, students and new Canadians, guiding them through the streets, and offering insight into the stories and history of the Chinese community in Calgary. Her tour covers anything and everything from culture to architecture to urban planning, connecting people to Chinatown, its story, secrets and all the best nooks and crannies. Every favourite spot should be so lucky as to have a guide like Alice. Thank you for your dedication to sharing Calgary’s stories, Alice, and congratulations on your White Hat Award.
